About the shop!
Hello! My name is Anne-Kristine and owner of gatagata.dk. First I would like to excuse my pour english, and I hope you understand my translation?
Gatagata.dk is an online shop where you can purchase unike and happy paintings painted by me.
Gatagata.dk is new, my first shop and my compagny is called www.rumlerille.dk and its a danish online-shop. But I got several request by japanese and foreign customers to have an english/japanese webpage, so therefor gatagata.dk
But why "gatagata" ?
A rumlerille is a stripe on the road, wich makes sound when you drive by them, and it makes a funny sound "gatagata" gatagatagatagataga.....and I have found out that foreigners are not able to pronounce "rumlerille" so I had to find a new name for my foreign customers. Therefor gatagata.....!
Rumlerilles history is that its sells paintings for institutions for children in phostercare, and a chunk of the profit goes to a foundation for a special phostercare in Denmark (see down below for link)
My dream with this compagny is that one day the profit is so big that Im able to make my own foundation for children at phostercare. So children whou doesnt have the opputunity to buy tuys, clothes or anything can get an ammount to do so.
Right now Im satisfied with giving a chunk to the foundation I found who especially helps children at phostercare. Rumlerille does also give an ammount to WWF every month.

About Anne-Kristine
As you now know, my name is Anne-Kristine. I was born in Japan, Osaka in 1974. My mother is japanese and father (who past away) was danish.
When I was 8 years old my mother,father and older sister and I moved to Denmark.
It was very hard at the biggining, I didnt speak danish, and had to start over, but danish people were/are very warm and light (I belive it is the right word).
Since I was a litle child I loved to draw, and I drawed all the time. One of my dreams was to become a fashion designer, but some where along the way, I gave up my dreams and drawing.
In 1997 I had my son Kristian, and I was very proud, and I kneeded to spend time with him, so I began to draw again. When I did that,it was like comming home to a place,that I didnt visit for a long time, and I fell in love with drawing again.
Since then I went to lots of school and was tought by some great teachers and then I learned to paint, but with oil. In the beginning I didnt have ideas my self, so I copyed other artists paintings. My favorite artist is Vincent Van Gogh and I sold a couples of copies.
Then in 2006 I wanted to paint some paintings for my 2 children. And I bought some postcards that I liked and my teacher learned me to paint childrens paintings.
One night at home I thouhgt to my self "That is easy, I can do that, I just need to paint the drawings I have in my head"! Then it all began.
At that time I had a hobby-web-site, where I sold jewellery (made by my self) and had some of my paintings. People didnt want to buy my jewelly but my paintings (haha) so I began to paint more and more and more!
One day a phoster-care-school contacted me, and wanted to buy 25 of my paintings, wow. And so it all began.
I always wanted to help children, but Im not good with children(haha) dont have patience for that,so for me it was the perfect way to furfill my own dream to be an artist,while I help children by making them happy by my paintings. And also finacially!
Now I have had my compagny for almost an year, and I have more and more customers. Many childrens-home, schools,kindergardens and even churches want to have my paintings.
I also paint for others and often it is gifts for weddings,christenings and so.
I dont charge so much, because I wouldnt be able to help so many children if I did. The standart in Denmark for prices are 1 cm2 is 1 kroner (around 0,5 dollar) it is quite expencive to purchaise art today.
Maybe my price will go up some day so I can become finacially indepedent, but for naow Im very satisfied with the way it is.
I get my inspiration from my children, when they do their funny stuff, but mostly I get inspiration from my childhood, the japanese cartoons (maga) and great danish artists, for example HC:Andersen. Often I think abaout hos fairytales when I paint.
You can call my paitings naive, but today in this world with wars, polutions and hatred, we really need some happy, naive and hopeful pictures ind our minds. And maybe also on our walls?

Here is the link for the childrens home I support, there are many children every year at this home, and some of them stays for years.
They all have in common that thet dont have parrents they can rely on, therefor they are here. To help them you also can support them by giving a contribution.
If youre interested you can writhe an email direktly to them at: post@oroestrand.dk or contact me, and Ill do the "dirty" work. They do have a bankaccount you can give the contribution.
When you support them, you support all the children who once stayed there. many of the children are on their own when they grow up and have to become adults. And many of them dont have the finacial securities to purchace schoolbooks, computers,go to fieldtrip or just buy a bed for there new start as an adult. But there foundation help them so they can have a litle bit of security.

They also have a nice safari-park (runned by the children) with all sorts of animals (se the website) and if you are in Denmark, you can visit the island (around 40km from Copenhagen/easy transportation by train and ferry) you ust need to book the trip forward by contact them.
